Church of the Good Shepherd

The Church of the Good Shepherd is a quaint stone church that is a symbol of New Zealand's Lake Tekapo. The church was constructed from building materials collected from surrounding construction sites, preserving the stones and plants around it. This gorgeous and elegant church blends perfectly with the natural scenery around it. The church is a popular destination for tourists, who enjoy taking a seat in the pews and watching the beautiful lake outside.
Lake Tekapo
301 Reviews
Lake Tekapo is located between Christchurch and Queenstown, in the heart of the Mount Cook Basin and MacKenzie. Surrounded on all four sides by thick bush and white snow, the sight of lake Tekapo under the dazzling sun is stunningly beautiful. As the glaciers of the Southern Alps melt into the lake, the rocks within the glaciers are broken into fine powder. As a result, the color of the lake in this area is a pale blue tinged with milky white.

National Park
UNESCO World Heritage-Natural Site
A third of Mount Cook National Park is covered in ice or snow all year round. One of the highest peaks in Mount Cook National Park is Mount Cook itself, which is one of the highest in all of Oceania. It is a great location to take a stroll through the park, or take part in other outdoor adventures, such as viewing New Zealand's Tasman Glacier or taking a helicopter to see the majestic peaks from above.

Why should stargazing be on your bucket list? Do you know that about 66% of the global population and 80% of our children cannot see the hazy center of the Milky Way even in the starry night sky? Are you aware that the light rays from electric bulbs scatter and strike dust, smoke, and air molecules scattering even more till they block the view of the stars completely? That is why stargazing spots are needed at sky preserves so we can watch the natural starry skies and the wonders they hold.

MountCook National Park is a long and narrow park in the middle of the Southern Alps. The park is 64 kilometers long and has a narrowest area of only 20 kilometers and covers an area of 70,000 hectares. There are snow mountains, glaciers, rivers, lakes, forests, and animals and plateau vegetation. The surprise here is unmatched by other places. The summit of Mount Cook, which stands on the top of the peaks, is covered with snow and ice all year round, while in the valleys of the mountains there are many glaciers hidden. On the west is the Hook Grand Glacier, and on the east is the Tasman Glacier. The Tasman Glacier is about 29 kilometers long, 2 kilometers wide and 600 meters deep. It is the longest glaciers in the world except the polar regions. When the color of the red dragonfly is dyed on the white top of Cook's Peak, Rizhao Jinshan is like a date. I don't remember when I saw this scene last time. I only feel the long-lost feeling in my heart. The summit of Mount Cook, which stands on the top of the peaks, is covered with snow and ice all year round, while in the valleys of the mountains there are many glaciers hidden. There is a deep ochre-colored icy lake, a clear green lake, mountains and blue waves, and unlimited scenery. This is my longing for life.

Say goodbye to Lake Pukaki, we drove to our last stop today, Mount Cook. At the foot of Mount Cook, one-third of the snow is everywhere, not only to experience New Zealand's largest glacier Tasman Glacier, but also to take a helicopter ride overlooking the magnificent view of Mount Cook, but the weather is not good, everything Did not experience, can only stay until the next time to make up for regrets. On the way, a group of teasing began to have a variety of concave shapes, and not far from the front, you can see Mount Cook far away. Mount Cook is located in the heart of Christchurch's central district and is part of the World Heritage Site along with New Zealand's West End National Park, Aspiring Hills National Park, and Fiordland National Park. Mount Cook Maori is also known as Aoraki, which means wearing the mountains of the clouds. It is from the mouth of Arthur in the south and the main mountain in the west. It is in the middle of the spectacular scenery of the Southern Alps.
