We didn&#39;t check the reviews before going to Mpalothies, just walked past it a few times and saw that it was constantly busy with a lot of local custom. The food was great, a short menu but really nicely cooked and feeling genuinely authentic. Meatballs in ouzo, fennel pie, fabulous sardines, courgette fritters and a great salad. With a litre of wine, 2 g and to, for 2, a ridiculous 41euros! But come here for the food not the price. We didn&#39;t even bother trying the fancier restaurants on the beach, it was just too good here!

Mpalothies

This was situated opposite our studio apartment (peters Studios) along the road to ornos beach. We wernt sure what to expect as it has a very local feel and didn&#39;t look very touristy. We stopped by for lunch and had the most amazing food. When we sat down we were immediately served a bottle of water with the drinks we ordered. We did ask for draught beer but the pump was not working so had large bottles instead. We ordered a greek salad which was huge and full of beautiful juicy tomatoes and creamy feta with drizzels of olive oil. A portion of chips which were home made sprinkled with salt and herbs. A portion of fried calamari which was the best we have have had so far on the island. It was light and crispy and there was lots of it. In all the bill came to 32 euros which was our cheapest meal so far. I can&#39;t fault the food,the service or the value. Will definitely come back. I can&#39;t wait to try other things on the menu which is a very traditional greek one. This restaurant is very understated but is a real gem.

Overall, it is still very good. I like the environment here. The price/performance ratio is also very good. We are still very satisfied. The speed of serving is also very fast.

Went to this restaurant as recommended by our hotel and can say that the food was nice, you can see the chef cooking the food from where we was seating. Food came within a reasonable time, however it was a bit odd with the way it was run as the barman was still cleaning the glasses when we arrived, the. He started smoking whilst doing it so slightly off putting. We had Mykonian sausage, snails, pork chop &amp; Greek salad within our party and I can say that it was all seasoned beautifully and well presented.

Long story short I wish I had read the reviews before going into this place which was recommended by our hotel for traditional Greek food. The waiters and the owner (bearded guy ) gave us the wrong food, the steak.was hard enough to break a wall and the waiters wouldn&#39;t do anything about it ...did nt want to serve us and gave me the dagger eyes when I asked to speak to the manager whose atitude was probably even worse. The calamari also had plastic in it. Long story short - worst possible restaurant, worst service possible, and the waiters were menacing as well. Please don&#39;t go.
