Historic Town
Langzhong Ancient Town is located along the bank of the Jialing River in Nanchong and is one of China’s four major ancient towns. Its more than 2000 years of history are well-preserved, and the town has an extremely unique layout. The famous general Zhang Fei of the Three Kingdoms Period once garrisoned at Langzhong for 7 years. In Langzhong, you can stroll the ancient lanes, visit the Zhang Fei Temple, look out across the whole town from Jinping Mountain, and enjoy the leisurely pace of local life. The folk customs here are rich and varied. The on-site performance of the show Langyuan Xianjing includes many folk performances and is worth watching. A lot of fun activities are available during the Spring Festival period.
Ancestral Hall of Han Huan Hou

The Ancestral Hall of Han Huan Hou is also known as Zhang Fei Temple and previously known as Xiongwei Temple during the Ming Dynasty. It is one of the National Key Cultural Relics, making up one of the outstanding monuments dating from the Three Kingdoms period. Zhang Fei was one of the “Five Tiger Generals” in Shu-Han during the Three Kingdoms period. After Liu Bei occupied Sichuan, Zhangfei was the governor of the region and served as the prefecture chief of Langzhong, Baxi. During his 7 years in Langzhong, Zhangfei protected the region and also aided the farm development. In 221 AD, Zhang Fei was murdered by his subordinates, Zhang Da and Fan Qiang, and was buried in Langzhong. Zhang Fei was a respected man and after his death the people built the hall in his honor.

The hometown of Zhu De is found in Yilong County's Ma'an Town. This natural scenic area combines organic landscape with monumental architecture. The scenic area is comprised of Linlang Mountain, Baiyang Lake, Penglai Pavilion and the Jiaqi Mountain Scenic Area. The core part of the Linlang Mountain Scenic Area is the Zhu De Memorial Park, which includes the former residence of Zhu De and the Zhu De Memorial Hall. Zhu De's former residence and the Zhu De Memorial Hall highlight the achievements of this great man and are good places to visit for patriotic 'red' tourism.

Tengwang Pavilion is a Tang Dynasty-style xieshan 'resting hill.' double-hanging-roof building. The Yutaiguan was built at the same time. It has been called the Tengwang Pavilion since the Qing Dynasty. Visitors entering the Tengwang Pavilion will be able to see the entirety of Langzhong's central district. Once the sun sets, this is an exceptional place from which to enjoy the nightscape. On one side, the beauty of the city can be enjoyed, while the majesty of the river can be seen on the other. This is a great place for taking pictures.
