What people are saying:

The shape of this lighthouse is very special, more like a small building. Lake Pontchartrain originally had a canal leading to the city center. Later, the canal was filled, and the lighthouse still penetrates into the center of the lake, equivalent to a trestle bridge. It is now a small museum.

We chose our tour of New Orleans because it included a stop at the New Canal Lighthouse. I am a lighthouse buff and try to visit one if there is availability wherever I go. We were taken up the st...

    Very disappointed

Rented a car to see the lighthouse and it was closed. Sign said they should be open on Monday, but nope they were not. No sign saying they are closed for the day.

Not sure you can visit this attraction

You can pass this on the Lake Front around Landry's Seafood, very nice structure, it was damaged badly during Hurricane Katrina, but restored after and looking very nice.

    Scenic lighthouse along the lake

Sadly I didn’t get to see if you can go in, but this is a pretty lighthouse on the shoreline of lake ponchatraine. Lots of folks exercising, taking a stroll or just enjoying the area.
