My husband and I visited NYC on March Break and we stayed in the neighbourhood of this restaurant, Bamboleo. I wanted Mexican food so I asked for a recommendation from he woman we stayed with and she said to go here. It was a great choice. The decor and atmosphere is very charming and the food was sooooo good. I had chicken enchiladas and my husband had a surf and turf burrito. Both were very very delicious! We arrived during happy hour (before 7pm on a Wednesday) and this is a very good deal! I had a half pitcher of red Sangria and my husband had a half pitcher of strawberry margarita. Each were only $13 during happy hour. That's crazy! My sangria was great but very heavy on the alcohol which I'm sure a lot of people would love. I had to ask them to add some soda water or I might not have been walking upright when I left. Once I did that i t was perfect! Also, a half pitcher was too much for one person in my opinion although my husband had no problem drinking his margarita pitcher and helping me with my sangria. I would highly recommend this place if you're in the area or even if you want to head down here for dinner. It's on the lower west side in Greenwich Village and it's a great area to wander around before or after dinner.
