Spent an evening In this place. Very fine wine and food . Good desert and latte. Service was outstanding. Very close to the Aloft in Harlem. Train station very near.

My expectations were indeed adjusted substantially and positively. Nothing against Minton&#39;s mind you, I just didn&#39;t think the jazz bar, speakeasy thing was going to be all that. I expected a mediocre experience, at best. Well I&#39;m now evangelizing for Minton&#39;s. I&#39;ve told everyone in and on the way to NYC that they have to make a visit to Minton&#39;s. It really is one of Harlem&#39;s best spots. First off, if you can organize yourself to get there on a night when Alyson Williams is singing. Alyson and her band are fantastic; real professionals. And then there is the food. My meal went like this. Pan roasted scallops with okra and yams. Gumbo as my main dish. And a fruit cobbler for dessert. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. My only admonition is that going to Minton&#39;s is not going to be an inexpensive night out. Prices are comparable for NYC and for the new Harlem; which mean don&#39;t leave home without a plastic card or a wad of cash. Highly recommend Minton&#39;s!

Harlem sure has come a long way, baby. It&#39;s up to you to decide if that&#39;s a good thing, but I am amazed at the changes. Vinateria is great choice in Harlem&#39;s still-evolving restaurant scene. The food is absolutely terrific (pork loin, steak) and they have great wine choices. The service can get a bit spotty once they get busy - but that&#39;s true anywhere. On a full night, it&#39;s a noisy place, so don&#39;t expect to come here on a Thursday or Friday night for a quiet, romantic moment. We went twice in as many days, and that should tell you enough!

Went there with a group of 8 for 7:30 reservations mid week. Service was a complete disaster. Drinks took almost 30 minutes to get to the table, arriving with in seconds of the appetizers. No of the apps were memorable in any way at all. The main courses were totally lack luster. I had the lamb ragu on rosemary past. Not a hint of rosemary and the sauce was just plain with no real flavor at all. The seared scallops on risotto was not a good choice. The risotto was under cooked and a couple of the scallops were missing a good sear. The short rib dinner was dry. Desserts were OK but the coffee machine only makes one cup at a time. The cappuccinos were all cold and arrived a good 10 minutes after the deserts showed up. It was a trendy looking place but very loud.
