Photos of Nujiang Canyon

The Nujiang Grand Canyon is located in the area where the three parallel rivers flow in the Hengduan Mountains. The Yunnan section has a length of more than 300 kilometers and an average depth of 2,000 meters. The deeper 3,500 section is located in the Bingzhongluo area of Gongshan, Yunnan, and is known as the "Oriental Grand Canyon". On both sides of the Nujiang River are the towering Gaoligong Mountain and Biluo Snow Mountain. The mountains are steep and layered. There are more than a dozen ethnic minorities such as Lisu, Dulong, Nu, and Pumi living in the canyon. Every year during the Spring Festival, the "bathhouse party" is a lively time in the canyon. Young men and women from the surrounding villages gather together, singing and dancing, all night long. The winter scenery of the Nujiang Gorge is very spectacular. The snow-capped mountains on both sides are covered in silver, the water of the Nujiang River is green and gentle, and the virgin forest is colorful, which constitutes a wonderful picture. The main landscapes are: Lisha Bottom Stone Moon, Moon Mountain, Maji Cliff, Luo Shimen Pass in Bingzhong, Lawu Cliff Waterfall, Zileng Mother-daughter Peak, etc.
