We literally fell upon this place while looking for a parking space in the area. It immediately attracted us with it's inviting decor of red checkered tablecloths on small tables outside & a romantic table for 2 by a charming window which provided an intimate space. Of course, the aroma of the food enticed us even more to check out the menu. The owner Denis is charming & very good at making you feel as if you were eating in his home. He also serves as the matter 'd, bartender, server & conversationist. He hails from Brittany, which is well know for very friendly & heartwarming people. We hardly were aware that more than 3 hrs. passed by since our arrival. The menu is small, which only ensures it's freshness. The fish is outstanding! The prices are reasonable & there are prix-fixe offers as well. We wish to share our "little gem" so others can enjoy the real Parisian experience. Hopefully, we can still get a table! Patty & Gerard
On a rainy Paris evening we were looking for a restaurant near our lodging on Rue Charenton, and happened on this small place only a block away. We liked the menu (not the same old fare as at the other nearby eateries) and decided to try it. It is quite small and cozy and we found a small nook in the back that just accommodated the three of us. Two of us had the plat du jour which was a delicious fish stew with two kinds of fish and a tasty broth. I had the sole meuniere, which the waiter deboned at table side for me. Delicious as well! This was one of the best local restaurants we found, and the prices were very reasonable. Within a few blocks of the Gare de Lyon.
