This is the very best restaurant we visited during our recent trip to Paris. I would give it 5 stars if I could. Go figure as the food is definitely Italian. First, dining is above a small deli. The foods inside the deli were mouthwatering. Since the place is small I suggest making reservations. While I have enough French to reserve a table, the person on the telephone spoke English so that was nice. Our dinner started with a small amuse bouche of bread topped with cheese and truffle. Very tasty. Then we split an appetizer of prosciutto and cheese drizzled with aged balsamic vinegar. The meat was freshly sliced and absolutely the tops. Nice sharp cheese pieces as well. Our dinners were tops also. My son had the gnocchi which was light and airy as a cloud. It was covered with a nice light butter cheese sauce. Perfect and the best we have ever tasted. I had octopus pasta. The meat was cooked just until done so not rubbery or tough and seasoned perfectly. I loved it. Following we had salad with cheese and tomatoes, some fresh some reconstituted sun dried, they were very sweet and delectable, the mozzarella was fresh, and the greens were not bitter but tasty. My son had grilled eggplant which was also superb. If nothing else you must go for the gnocchi. The waiter was very efficient and helpful with the menu. Everyone was welcoming. The atmosphere was convivial. Oh yes, I would definitely go back.
