Jiuhuangshan is located on the way to Jiuzhaigou from Chengdu. This area is home to the Qiang minority group and has many distinctive socio-cultural features which tourists may find interesting. While there, it is imperative to visit the old fort that would have housed residents during past times of turmoil and warfare. To the rear of the village, you will find the splendid Temple of Heaven with its Thousand Buddha Corridor and Hall of Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy. There is also a Qiang minority cultural exhibition and exciting animal performances. Dotted throughout the scenic area are numerous lovely and unique mountain caves. Among these, the most famous is perhaps the Yuanwang (King of the Apes) Cave. With its colorfully lit up stalactites and stalagmites, the cave is a paradise for photography lovers. Couples traveling together can walk hand-in-hand on a romantic stroll across the Lover's Bridge. Suspended on the gently swaying cable bridge, it is as if you are walking among the clouds.
