Apollo Bay - Great Ocean Road Self-Drive Series
Leave at 6:30 in the morning and go to Apollo Bay Beach to watch the sunrise. The east is faintly bright, and the sun is still below the horizon. The slope of Apollo Bay Beach is extremely small, and the beach is almost horizontal. The watery beach is like a mirror, presenting a beautiful reflection. The rising sun is blocked by thin clouds, forming a golden cloud layer on the sea, and a golden light also shines on the beach. The Marriner viewpoint is on a small hill, 3.5 kilometers away from Apollo Bay town, and the car can be driven to the parking lot on the hill. From a high altitude, the beautiful Apollo Bay and the town are all in sight.
Great Ocean Road, Victoria, AustraliaOceania
A quaint, sleepy little town about mid-way along the Great Ocean Road. Stunning beach with absolutely awesome sunrises. Gets very busy with tourists from Melbourne (and elsewhere) in Summer, but in the quieter months you'll practically have the place to yourself
Apollo Bay, like other small towns on Ocean Road, has perfect living facilities, delicious seafood and beautiful beach scenery. Visitors can enjoy fresh and delicious seafood dishes made by locals here, and they can also go fishing with the villagers. Not bad.
Apollo Bay is backed by the Otvi Mountains, with a wide white sand beach in front of it. Close to Moorburn and the gold mine Ballarat, the bay is half-moon-shaped and beautiful scenery. It was a whaling station in the 1830s. It was settled in 1856 and has the largest freezer factory in the country. It is a famous surfing resort!
stopped by here for lunch on our way back to Melbourne. The fish & chips was good and the view was really superb!
It's a very worthwhile place to go, and it must stay at least one night. The Bay faces to the east. In good weather, you can see the sunrise and the sunset reflected in the sea in the evening. Hotels in the town are all by the sea, and across the road are seaside parks and beaches. On the hillside not far from the beach, cattle and sheep are quietly grazing. Under the blue sky and white clouds, there is a beautiful picture of the table top.
