Glencoe Village ( Glencoe Village is located at the northwest end of the canyon, on the south bank of the River Coe River, entering Loch Leven (a lagoon on the shore of Lake Loch Linnhe). The village is located in the Ross, Skye and Lohab areas of the Highland Council District for local government use. This is the Inverness etiquette function of the Argyll and Acting Officers area of part of the Registered County. The village is surrounded by magnificent mountain views and is popular with serious mountain hikers, rock and ice climbers. It has been seen in many films, including Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban as the family Hagrid, and the 2012 James Bond film 007: The Big Break, also known as the birthplace of James Bond's father, Andrew Bond, in Ian Fleming's original novel.
