About Nayun Ancient Town

With a history of more than 700 years, Nayun Ancient Town is the only remaining ancient Dai minority town in China. It has been listed as a historical and cultural town of the Dai population. Within the ancient town, the houses are built either in the style of the Dai people or with a historic Chinese architectural style, clearly illustrating the exchanges between central China and the frontier that existed long ago. In the minds of Southeast Asian Dai peoples, Nayun Ancient Town is a sacred place. This is because the Tusi Gates of the Dai people were formerly located here. It is because of the rule of the Tusi that the ancient town was such a large and flourishing place in antiquity.

Nayun Town is the residence of Menglian County. The ancient city is located on the hillside of the eastern part of the county. It is divided into upper city, middle city and lower city according to the mountains. Menglian Xuanfu Department is located in upper city. At this time, the sun is shining and the sky is cloudless. The climate here is characterized by abundant sunshine and large temperature difference. Wearing a long-sleeved T-shirt in the sunshine is very hot and dry. Wearing a coat in the house is also somewhat shady. I drove my car from downtown to the parking lot of Uptown, and from a distance I saw the eaves and arches, painted the main entrance of Menglian Xuanfu Department. Menglian Xuanfu Department is the Yamen of Dai Nationality's hereditary Tusi Dao family. It has a wall more than 2 meters high outside and four side doors around it. It has a main hall, conference hall, back hall, chamber and so on. It is a building complex with the characteristics of Han Dai architecture. This is the Museum of Minority History in Menglian County, which is free of charge without admission tickets.

Ha-ha, where our Tusi lived before Menglian, there was also an old peacock in it. I went to it when I was in junior high school, and it was still there when I was in junior high school. This peacock has a long life.

I still want to go there. In a word, I recommend it very much and everyone will try it. Nowadays, the old town of Nayun can't see the taste of the old town. It's all Dai-Han houses built with modern building materials. Only Tusi Mansion and Buddhist Temple are better preserved in the town. It is not surprising that the Dai bamboo building can not be preserved for hundreds of years. But the pattern of the ancient town is still there. Only after walking on the spot can we understand that the so-called "Shangcheng" is the highest part of the town. The Tusi Fu and Shangcheng Buddhist Temple are built there, standing in the local overlook, Menglian Dam has a full view; the so-called "Zhongcheng" is half of the mountain, and the Zhongcheng Buddhist Temple is built here; the so-called "Xiacheng" is an area at the foot of the mountain.

If you have enough time, you can go for a walk. There is an old Tea-Horse road.

There is no sense of seclusion five years ago. Gradually, various kinds of development have made this place lively. It is also a rare currency fair in Myanmar, Thailand, China and other countries.
