About Puning

Puning is situated in the southeast of Guangdong province at the western end of the Chaoshan Plain. It has the largest inland port in eastern Guangdong. A large number of overseas Chinese originate from here, and the area was also a Communist stronghold during the Civil War. Puning is home to a large number of historical attractions including Panlong Temple, Hongyang Ancient Town and the site of a Communist meeting during the Nanchang Uprising.

Hot Spring

Memorial Hall
The former site of the Liusha Conference is the former site of the military decision-making conference of the August 1st Nanchang Uprising Army South Command. It's located on the east side of the Liusha New River, in Puning City. The former site was originally a Christian church. It's an ash-wood bungalow structure with front rooms, patios, rear halls, side halls and other buildings. The August 1st Nanchang Uprising Army's Southern Forces Command Military Decision Meeting was held in the side hall of the church. The meeting initially summarized the lessons acquired in the wake of the uprising, implemented the spirit of the August 7th meeting of the CPC Central Committee, and made a series of major decisions with major historical significance.

Ancient Settlement
Deanli was built in the tenth year of Tongzhi (AD 1871). It was built in the 16th year of Guangxu. The whole building is famous for its large scale, ancient villages and unique design. Although it has experienced great changes, the overall building is relatively intact. The whole Deanli is divided into three parts: “Laozhai”, “Zhongzhai” and “Xinzhai”. Here, you can not only appreciate the 100 houses of the old village called “Hundred Birds and Phoenix”, but also the Zhongzhai and Xinzhai. The architectural layout of the unique "Puma Trailer".

Temple
Masiyan Temple is located in the east foot of Mashan Mountain, west side of Chiwei Street, Puning City, Jieyang. It is relatively ancient currently reserved in Puning, which was founded in the Tang Dynasty. This temple was said to be the dojo originally built by Da Dian, an eminent monk during the Tang Dynasty, and then went through several destructions and restorations. The current temple is a composite building re-built and maintained successively in dynasties after the Qing Emperor Qianlong, consisting of the main hall and two sided wings.
