About Putian: Putian is located in the eastern part of the Fujian coast. It is adjacent to the Taiwan Strait to the east, facing Taiwan across the waters. Because it is famous for producing lychee, it was given the moniker "Lychee City." With a long history and beautiful scenery, Putian is one of the “historical and cultural cities” in Fujian Province. The famous Southern Shaolin Temple is located in the north side of Xitianwei Town in Licheng District in Putian City. It is an important birthplace of Nanquan martial arts in China. The Mazu Ancestral Temple on Meizhou Island is also very famous. The Mazu worshiped in the temple, where a god sits that has been long revered by shipmen, seafarers, tourists, businessmen and fishermen.
