Nangshan Cishou Temple is located at the foot of Nangshan Mountain in Hanjiang District, Putian, with a wide open gate and beautiful environment. It is a famous ancient temple in Fujian Province. It was founded in the Tang Dynasty. The founder of the mountain was a famous monk in the Tang Dynasty---Fuhu Zen Master, that is, Master Miaoying. Therefore, the temple was originally named "Fuhu Temple", and was later named by the King of Fujian. Zhi converted to Master Miaoying, in order to wish his mother's birthday, the temple was expanded, and the court was invited to give the name "Cishou Temple" a plaque. Nangshan Cishou Temple was listed by the State Council as a national key Buddhist temple in the Han area in 1983. The Fifth World Buddhist Forum was held in Putian in October 2018. The temple is one of the three sub-venues of the Buddhist Forum. Historically, the natural scenery of Nangshan Mountain in ancient times is the first place among all the famous mountains in Putian. It is the “Ancient Nangshan Mountain” of the twenty-four scenic spots in Putian. Now Nangshan Mountain has been developed into the Nangshan Mountain Forest Park.
