Gubu Mountain

Gubu Mountain is located in Dongduo Village, Ritong Township, Karuo District, about 40 kilometers away from the county seat. The mountain is about 5,400 meters above sea level and is one of the highest peaks near Qamdo. It is known as the first of the 18 sacred mountains in Kham District. The full name of Gubu is "Zaji Guwoqiongpu", which means the cave that the Dapeng penetrated. Affected by altitude, Gubu Mountain reveals the unique stone buds, stone pillars, caves and shafts of plateau karst. According to folklore, Gubu Mountain is the sister mountain of Meili Snow Mountain, and believers must worship these two sacred mountains at the same time to be considered complete.

On the rocky mountain halfway up the east side of the mountain is the holy lake called the Three Living Buddhas of Qamdo. Although it is a lake, it is actually less than 10 square meters in size and less than 0.5 square meters in size. However, it is a wonder of Gubu Mountain that the lake can be seen at such a high altitude and insufficient water source.

Gubu Mountain is majestic, with different peaks and exposed limestone on the top. Due to the high altitude, stone buds, stone pillars, and karst caves formed by the plateau karst experienced tens of millions of years of sun and rain are exposed everywhere.

The most famous attraction is the cave in Naining, halfway through the Gubu mountain. There are many pagodas and statues at the entrance of the cave, and the interior space is also very large.
