Qiandongnan Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
You should visit Guizhou at least once, and experience the day and night of the Qianhu Miao Village!!
It turns out that the off-season is the correct way to visit the Qianhu Miao Village of Xijiang❗️||🏠Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village
🚗About transportation:
Take the high-speed rail to Kaili South Station!
❗️There is a bus ticket office on the left side of the high-speed rail station: 18/person (but there is a timetable, it seems to be one and a half hours)
❗️If the departure time is close to the departure time, then I strongly recommend taking the bus! There is really no need to take a black car, the bus can directly send to the west gate or north gate, both gates will stop
-
🚪About which door to enter:
Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village has two gates, west gate and north gate
I sincerely recommend going in and out of the north gate
Because the west gate must go through a commercial street that lasts for seven or eight minutes,
The commercial street is really really very⬇️ Head
If you are dragging a suitcase, it is even more difficult
-
🚌About sightseeing car:
After entering the scenic area, you have to take a sightseeing car to enter the village
I can only say that the money that should be spent still has to be spent
-
🏘️About accommodation:
Accommodation is not recommended! The best view is with a balcony
If there are not too many requirements, it is enough to suggest halfway up the mountain
Living too high is really really hard to climb
-
🍽️About eating:
For friends who come to Guizhou for the first time, I recommend sour soup beef or local stir-fry
-
📝Note tips:
There are really few people going in the off-season
Accommodation and eating are relatively convenient
It is best to find a sunny day to go
The experience on a rainy day should not be too good
The village is quite commercial, but I personally think it is very beautiful and worth it! The stilted buildings are very beautiful and the photos are very good. It is a good choice to go on a sunny day for a weekend. It is not as unbearable as the Internet says
There will be some performances at a fixed time
Try to bring as little luggage as possible. It is really hard to walk with a suitcase on the road in the village. If there is really a lot of luggage, try to choose a homestay that can help with luggage
Remember to wear a pair of comfortable shoes

Guangzhou to Guizhou three-day two-night per capita 800 strategy
Here is the strategy I have sorted out! Guizhou is really the first choice for Guangzhou's surrounding tours, because it has beautiful scenery and low prices, very suitable for weekend relaxation! My boyfriend and I went together, and the cost of two people did not exceed 1,500 yuan.
We suggest taking the train from Guangzhou South to Congjiang Station (passing through Guilin, Guangxi on the way, the scenery is super beautiful!) The round-trip ticket price is 388 yuan. We recommend staying in the village inside Zhaoxing Dong Village, so it is very convenient to travel. I live two kilometers outside the village, and every time I travel, I am picked up and dropped off by the boss of a guesthouse called Yihao Guesthouse, which is very convenient. The boss is very friendly! I stayed there for two days and had a great experience!
As for tickets, student tickets are 40 yuan. We went to two attractions, one is Tang'an Terraced Fields (next to the terraced fields is a Tang'an Dong Village), and the other is Zhaoxing Tong Village. Tang'an Terraced Fields is located on the mountain, and Zhaoxing Dong Village is located at the foot of the mountain.
We arrived at Tang'an Terraced Fields at noon, so we wanted to go to the mountain to enjoy the scenery in the afternoon. The boss of the guesthouse told us that we were very lucky because the weather was particularly good that day and we could see the sunset (it was cloudy and rainy the previous few days). To go to the terraced fields, you need to take a car. There are some people selling tickets on the roadside in Zhaoxing Dong Village. We directly bought a round-trip ticket for 20 yuan. It takes about 15 minutes to go up the mountain. The mountain road is very winding! Always going around. If you get carsick, it's best to prepare a bag. If you don't get carsick, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery outside the window, which is really super beautiful!
After reaching the top of the mountain, the driver will drop us off at the entrance of Tang'an Dong Village, and the entrance is Tang'an Terraced Fields. At that time, we chose to visit Tang'an Dong Village first, and then return to the entrance to watch the sunset when the sun went down, and then return to the guesthouse. Tang'an Dong Village is very comfortable, and the whole village gives people a leisurely feeling, which is very suitable for relaxing. The local architecture is very distinctive, and it looks more charming under the afternoon sun.
Compared with Tang'an Dong Village, Zhaoxing Dong Village is more lively, full of human fireworks. Walking into the alley is a residential area, with a small stream in the middle, where you can see children catching fish in the river and women washing clothes. The size of the village is moderate, and it takes about two or three hours to visit. Entering from the entrance of the village, you will see a street for renting ethnic costumes, with many shops. I rented a set of costumes, the price is 30 yuan for two hours. Many households in the village will hang dyed long cloth and tie-dyed clothes on the upper floor of their homes. Some shops can experience tie-dyeing, but because the process is more complicated and time-consuming, we did not go.
The most representative local delicacy is crispy fragrant pig. Crispy fragrant pig powder can be seen everywhere, and the price is also very affordable, only a dozen yuan a bowl. (I ate for two days haha) In addition, grilled pork skewers are also a good choice, 6 skewers can be bought for 10 yuan, very delicious!

The underrated Dong village treasure route in Guizhou
Recommend that more than half of the Dong population in China live in Guizhou Province, in the beautiful mountains and rivers of southeastern Guizhou, a Dong village, a tall drum tower
Few people come here, and there are not too many traces of commercialization
The Dong architecture, folklore, culture and other treasures of the ethnic group hidden in the landscape are the world's!

It's a high cost-effective homestay in Zhaoxing Dong Village
📍Location: Zhaoxing Dong Village, located in the southeast of Liping County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, is the largest Dong village in Qiandongnan. It was selected by National Geographic as one of the '33 most tempting tourist destinations in the world'.
🚗Transportation: Departing from Guangzhou, the high-speed train from Jiang Station takes 4 hours to reach. After getting off the train, exit the station, walk to the right, take a minibus (10 yuan/person), and you can reach the village in about 10 minutes.
🎫Ticket: 80 yuan/person/3-day pass for the village (free for residents of Guangzhou/Foshan/Shenzhen)
🏠Homestay: The village is not big, basically you can finish visiting in 1 hour. The main street is about 1 kilometer long. It is recommended to choose a homestay at the entrance of the village to avoid dragging luggage (some cross streets are quite rugged stone roads). In terms of cost performance, we chose to stay at the Dust Wind Inn.
🌟Homestay location: It is on the slope at the entrance of the village. When coming from the high-speed rail station, tell the driver to stop near the Dust Wind Inn.
🌟Homestay rooms: Chinese-style design, the balcony facing the village can directly overlook the terraces and the village, the viewing lake and the waterwheel are just below (the homestay offers a variety of room types, choose a lake view room to see the village). When we came, it was not the peak season. After nightfall, the constant stream of pedestrians during the day decreased a lot, so it did not affect sleep at all. It takes about 2 minutes to walk from the homestay to the main street. You can communicate with the shop owner in advance about the arrival time. If you take a bus from the high-speed rail station, you basically don't need to carry your luggage after getting off the bus, which is very convenient for travel.
🌟Near the homestay: The travel photography and breakfast shop are quite convenient, just nearby. It is recommended to try the local mutton rice noodles, which taste great.

Langde Miao Village Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Langde Miao minority village in Guizhou
Our visit to a Miao minority village in Guizhou was a fascinating experience that allowed us to immerse ourselves in the rich culture and traditions of this ancient community. We were especially intrigued by the stunning Miao dresses that we saw, which were intricately embroidered and adorned with silver jewelry.
Serena was particularly taken with the dresses, and she decided to rent a local costume for our visit. As she posed for photos on the village square, she looked like a true Miao princess, with her dress and jewelry shimmering in the sunlight.
But our visit was about more than just admiring the beauty of the Miao dresses. We also had the opportunity to learn about the history, culture, and customs of the Miao people. We were fascinated by the community's unique architecture, which included stilt houses and wooden bridges. We also learned about the Miao's rich tradition of embroidery, which has been passed down through generations of women.
Overall, our visit to the Miao minority village in Guizhou was a truly enriching experience that left us with a deep appreciation for the beauty and richness of this ancient culture. We highly recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic and enlightening cultural experience.

Exploring Miao Culture in Guizhou
While touring through Guizhou, we visited a lot of different Miao Villages, but there is one that really seems to stand out in my mind: Langde.
During our stay, it wasn't packed with tourists, and there are actually two parts of the village that you can explore - the upper and the lower part. We received a really warm welcome from the local villagers - a procession of musicians and small cups filled with rice wine as you enter the grounds of the village; followed by a performance of local song and dance.
Following this warm welcome, we were left to our own devices to wander - without a doubt it is a quiet village, where local culture and traditions are kept alive by those still living there.

Langde Miao Village
Our story start from small city Kaili. It's located around 40-45 minutes drive from Langde Miao Vilage and it's the place where you can find few good hotels.
Langde Miao Village is old and authentic village of Miao people and they still leave there. Located between hills, next to small river it's amazing place to spend few hours. From the entrance gate you can walk or take shuttle bus. If you are lucky you will see typically Miao dance at main square inside of the village. You can also rent clothes and make some nice pictures for your social medias.
You should definitely put this place on your list and enjoy in nature and history.

The forgotten Miao Village!!!!
On the way to the "village supermarket", the local people of Qiandongnan recommended that in addition to the thousands of households in Spirited Away, you must go to Langde Miao Village 1 The only Miao Village that the Olympic torch has passed through 2 The Miao Village that refused to develop tourism has a hundred-year-old stilted building and a wind and rain bridge 4 The first batch of "traditional Chinese villages" It is said that when Qiandongnan was developing tourism, as the earliest Miao Village in Guizhou, because the local residents refused to develop, they chose Qianhu Miao Village, so it was preserved. The performance of the Miao Village's local customs, traditional batik crafts, and 12 door-blocking wines are still well preserved. Langde Miao Village 35 yuan (adult ticket + sightseeing car, elderly/children free, peak season original price 60 yuan, there are discounts in the link below to avoid the lingering fears of peak season tourism! The same artificial attractions, queuing to check in the viewing platform, anxious sightseeing car queues have already jammed, I must turn my head to see Langde, the village has already opened to receive tourists. There is no strategy to play here, go in the off-season, only saw 2 ~3 tourists, the rest are local villagers. Accommodation: Stay in the panoramic youth hostel (the highest accommodation point in the whole village), although climbing the stone steps is very tired, but in the panoramic view, you can see the whole view of the village, stroking the cat, watching the village, blowing the wind, the innkeeper's balcony The indigo batik, exquisite silverware (dowry) is really self-wearing and not bought. Food: Basically, every family is both a homestay and a restaurant. The price is very reasonable. Vegetarian dishes are 15-18, meat dishes are 38-40, and 78 can eat a pot of sour soup fish. If you are a person, you can choose to share a meal with other young partners in the hotel. Play: Around 11 o'clock in the morning, there are praises at 4.30 in the afternoon, from the stone tablet starting to block the wine to the performance of the dam in the square, lasting about an hour and a half, then you can stroll around the village, you can spend an hour in depth, the average price of small crafts in the Miao Village is 30 ~ 40, rent clothes 15—hour, but be careful not to rent clothes near the praise time, because during the performance, tourists are not allowed to walk around in Miao clothes to take pictures, it is said that fines will be imposed, there is a Bao Mountain Village on the opposite side of Langde, which is in the mountain, it seems There is a trail leading to it, you can go and see if you have time, the river under the wind and rain bridge is very clear, you can go down and step on the water, it is really worthwhile, that kind of original tranquility, non-commercial, happy and relaxed.

We travelled 1.5 hours from Libo to Danzhai to experience batik art first-hand; a craft inherited through generations among the Miao ethnic group. While we were disappointed that it wasn’t the intimate workshop we had hoped for in terms of learning more about the history of the craft and the meaning behind the designs and motifs we saw (we were led to a huge open plan room, handed pots of melted wax and told to just get on with it 😆), we loved exploring shops filled with delicately decorated batik prints hidden within the streets of the town, alongside intricate architecture and a street a filled with life.
