1938. The pseudo-Manchukuo was founded and the Japanese began planning Changchun. Soon, they designated the area north of today's Jiefang Road, between East and West Democratic Avenues as "the palace building land". This is the beginning of the geological palace. The current geological palace, that is, Jilin University Museum, is located in the center of the "Eight Majors" building - the north end of Xinmin Street, is the teaching building of the Chaoyang Campus of Jilin University (Changchun University of Science and Technology, that is, the former Changchun Geological College), the geological palace was once the seat of the Japanese and pseudo-New Palace. The geological palace is worth a visit because it was built as the official "royal palace" of Fuyi. Construction began in September 1938, due to the outbreak of the Pacific War, financial constraints and the work was stopped, only the underground part, and the magnificent palace was completed in the 1950s. In 1953, on the original basis, the green tile roof, palace-style building, because it is the Changchun Geological Institute teaching building, the name of the "Geological Palace". The geological palace is a typical ancient Chinese architectural style, and the square in front of the door is the cultural square.
