Bukchon Hanok Village is Seoul’s famous place of interest, but really is a building complex of ancient Korean constructions. Close to the famous Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village (which means “North Village”) has many inhabitants, and conceals a bunch of modern buildings on the inside. By coincidence when we visited we bumped into Korean cast and crew filming a soap opera, which is really fortunate, because anything might happen. That is to say, looking around the best parts of Bukchon Hanok Village was not possible. But the good thing is the weather was great, and Bukchon was not crowded. Here the buildings had a fascinating ancient appearance and the streets were peaceful; from time to time Korean floated out from amongst the houses, though of course were unable to understand it. These old buildings were in an excellent state of repair, not a brick out of place and even the doors looked quite refined. Bukchon also had streets going up the slope or down the slope, and had some alleys that were quite deep. On Bukchon street I went to a Korean Clothes Store, with Morandi colors that are quite in fashion. My intention was to rent a suit, but the proprietor said they only sell, and do not rent. I could not refuse this kind suggestion from the female owner.
