Qingdao Hong Shen Former Residence

Hongshen's former residence is located at No. 1 Fushan Road, Hongshen (1894－ 1955), a modern writer and film dramatist from Wujin, Jiangsu. In the autumn of 1934, he came to Qingdao to be the director of the foreign language department of Shanda and completed his representative screenplay "Peach Blossom After the Robbery".

In 1934, Hong Shen came to Qingdao and succeeded Liang Shiqiu as head of the Department of Foreign Languages of Shandong University (now Ocean University of China), where he lived. Hong Shen's former residence is a two-storey German-style building with tall halls, arched windows, green bricks, grey tiles and Gothic roofs. It is very spacious and elegant. Hong Shen's former residence is also the most "rich" one of the former residences of modern cultural celebrities in Qingdao. The skewed steps of the house are very distinctive. A spacious step is built according to the terrain. The steps are picked up and separated on both sides. After that, the steps are bypassed by a simple wall and enter the high courtyard. Only through the stone steps can they enter the living room.

Hong Shen is a well-known writer and dramatist in China. His representative works include Hong Shen's Collection of Literature, Xiangdao Rice, Beauty's Pedestrian, and The Writing Method of Film and Drama. He created China's first film literary script Peach Blossom after the robbery, and participated in the founding of the colleague magazine Summer Records Weekly with outstanding achievements.
