The original name of Qingdao Catholic Church, St. Mier's Church, was designed by German designer Bilouha according to Gothic and Roman architectural styles. The church is made of yellow granite and reinforced concrete, and its surface is carved with simple and beautiful patterns. The window is semi-circular and arched, with smooth lines, which is solemn and simple. Located in a busy city, close to the firewood splitting yard, it is the largest Gothic building in Qingdao area and the only holy church in China.
Catholicism is a nickname and its name is St. Mier's Cathedral. Located on Zhejiang Road, a slope to the west is Qingdao's famous Zhongshan Road, which is built by Germans. It has Gothic style and Roman architectural scenery. Whenever you go, there are many new couples taking wedding photos on the square. It is a must-see spot to Qingdao. It is also very close to the railway station, and it takes more than ten or twenty minutes to walk.
Staying in Qingdao for a short time, I came to the famous Zhejiang Road Cathedral. From a distance, I saw German architecture, crosses and other places at the end of the road. There were not many commercial street people. There were many couples taking wedding photos. They wore dresses, white wedding dresses, and Western-style churches in the background. Coming in and turning around, the solemn environment makes people dare not speak out at will and feel full of solemnity. They like the decoration of glass Bible paintings very much. People in it seem to be in another country. It has always been felt that the appreciation of scenic spots needs a filtering ability, and has been trying to feel this way. Several pictures to share (taken in 20111)
A very beautiful church, once stepped into the church square as if in the Central European century, impetuous heart momentarily static, into the church to feel the Holy journey, let the soul to a noble baptism. Suggestion: Do not go on holidays, do not wear short skirts, shorts, slippers. If you arrange the trestle journey first, you can walk directly to the church. The trestle is very close to the church, and the scenery on the road is also good.
The Catholic Church on Zhejiang Road was built in 1934. It has a magnificent steeple and is a famous Western building in Qingdao. The church is built on a hillside, with a brick road winding up the entrance. Gothic and Roman architectural styles are reflected in the church. The surface is carved with simple and exquisite decorations. The roof is covered with red tiles with tongue. It is magnificent and elegant without losing its simplicity and elegance.
At the last stop of the journey, I would like to visit the Catholic Church on Zhejiang Road even if I risk catching the train later. I'm afraid I'm sorry not to come here. Sure enough, it didn't disappoint me. The building was so beautiful. The ticket was 10 yuan. There were many people taking wedding dresses at the door. There were no photographs in it. Some pictures were taken secretly in order to leave a good memory for themselves.
The Cathedral is so beautiful! If you visit Qingdao you should take the time to visit the cathedral
The original name of Qingdao Catholic Church, St. Mier's Church, was designed by German designers based on Gothic and Roman architectural styles. The church was built in 1932 and completed in 1934. The tower, 56 meters high, was the tallest building in Shandong Province before the founding of the People's Republic of China. It is the only holy church in China. There are many new people taking wedding dresses.
It's like being transported both back in time and to Germany. St. Michael's is situated in a large square and surrounded with other Germanic architecture. It has a surreal and quaint feel to it and one can be forgiven for forgeting that one is in China. The cathedral stand some 56m tall and was opened in 1934, the same year Hitler was confirmed as sole leader of Germany. Amongst the many people visiting the cathedral, one can still get a sense of serenity inside this magnificent building.
