We were on the way to another more casual restaurant, saw the sign of the theater, walked on the stairs, and decided we were dressed just right. Looking forward to an expensive dinner (for Quito), we were shocked to see a top-notch Epicurean experience, which made the price seem quite low in terms of quality and service. The perfect blend of flavors shocked us even more. Every dish is presented in a beautiful way and the staff is very attentive. Highly recommended for those looking for good food in Quito.
I asked a few people in Quito that we should have a good but reasonable meal. Everyone’s first suggestion is Theatrum. In the historic center, Theatrum is located on the second floor of a building on the square. I didn’t notice if they have elevators, so I don’t know if they can accommodate people who cannot climb about 15 stairs. Be sure to try the ceviche. In Ecuador, you add popcorn (who knows?) and their corn nut version.
