Lotus Temple
New Delhi·India
235 Reviews
Located in the southeastern part of Delhi, the Lotus Temple was built in 1986 and is named after its shape of a lotus flower. The Lotus Temple is built of white marble. It looks like three white petals from a distance, and the lotus flower is surrounded by nine clear water pools. The tall and empty temple has neither gods nor decorations such as carvings and murals. The gardens and pools around the Lotus Temple are open and visitors can rest here. At night, the Lotus Temple is particularly beautiful under the light.

The Jama Masjid was built in 1650 and is a great mosque in India. It is the equivalent to the Mecca Mosque in Saudi Arabia and the Al-Azhar Mosque in Egypt. Every year, many tourists are attracted to pilgrimage here. The temple has three gates that lead to the main building, the largest of which is the East Gate, which is dedicated to the emperor. At the top of the temple are three white marble domes dotted with gold-plated round studs and black marble strips.
