The ancient pear garden was formerly Taiping District Nursery, which was established in 1959 after the transfer of the planting field to Taiping District Construction Department. At that time, the nursery was mainly planted with economic tree species, and more than 30,000 trees such as mountain pear, hawthorn trees, grapes and other types of Joe shrubs. In July 1989, the municipal government approved the conversion of the nursery to an open park in Taiping District. After five years of construction, it opened to the public on October 8, 1994, and was named the grand park.
