This building is the living history of Texas. It is a three-story red brick building built in the mid-19th century, the earliest masonry building in Texas. It was built in the Civil War and became the headquarters of the Confederate Army in Texas. Galveston was flooded by typhoon in 1900 and the building survived. There is now an exhibition on local history.
