Yujishan Great Buddha, located in Beiyuan Town, Nanxian County, is also known as the Beiyuan Great Buddha. It is 15 kilometers away from the southern county town and is one of the ten famous Buddhas in Sichuan Province. The Buddha is 17.5 metres high, 6.13 metres wide at waist and 5.2 metres wide at hem, 1.3 metres long at limbs and palms. He has a plump face, ears and shoulders, slightly open eyes, strong nose tip, straight nose tail through the forehead, slightly upward corner of mouth, and a solemn and peaceful appearance. Head with meat bun, chest tied waist, bare elbow and feet, left hand raised flat with chest, palm up, one Tosselli, right hand raised, palm center to left, thumb and middle finger, ring finger, for "Sayingyin" shape. Dressed in monk's clothes and covered with mosaic gowns, the sculpture is exquisite and the statue is rigorous. Facing South and slightly westward, it stands on top of the rock, and is not related to the Rock except that the upper part of the back is connected with the cliff. The lower limbs are 2 meters away from the cliff and can be traveled around the legs. There is water flowing from the gaps behind the buttocks and clear springs accumulated in the depressions behind the feet all the year round. There is no evidence of the age of the Buddha carving, but its shape, clothing and style should be restored in the eight years of Ming and Jiajing before the Southern Song Dynasty. On both sides of the Buddha, there are stones like dragons and tigers, and on the right, there are stone carvings like Guanyin. In the early years of Jiajing in the Qing Dynasty, the local government dug a huge cave to resist the Bailian uprising. The main entrance of the cave was 30 meters from the right of the Buddha. The stone cave is more than 100 meters long. There are stone beds, stove stoves, granaries, toilets and so on. In 1985, the southern county government carried out the training and construction of the Yujishan Grand Buddha Scenic Spot to make it glow more charming.
