Canglangting is the longest existing classical garden in Suzhou. Su Shunqin, a poet of the Northern Song Dynasty, was demoted to the people because of his support for the New Deal. When he was exiled in Suzhou, he built a "Canglangting". With the meaning of "Canglang's water is clear, it can make me feel better, Canglang's water is turbid, it can make me feel better" the garden becomes popular. The self-name "Canglangweng". Su Shunqin created Canglang Pavilion Records here, and recited with Ouyang Xiu and Mei Yaochen. From then on "Canglang Pavilion" Qingfeng Mingyue, lasting forever.
