Chermeieras is located in the middle of Duncan and Naimo, the town's traditional industry is processing wood, logs cut from the Kawengqin Mountains, drifting down the river, fishing sawn into wood squares and plates, loading seaside ships, shipped to Victoria, Vancouver, and Seattle.
