Tekapo Town Star is famous for stargazing and is named Starry Town. High altitude and high clearness make stargazing quite popular here. Especially the Southern Cross stars in the southern hemisphere can be identified only by the naked eye!

Queenstown takes about three hours to Tekapo. The ticket for the stargazing group was bought directly at the meeting point in Tekabo. The town center is not big. The meeting point is very easy to find. The stargazing is really good. There is a Chinese tour guide, the whole process is explained about the constellation, Antarctic stars, etc. The viewing range is determined by the weather. If you are lucky to buy a ticket on the same day, you will have the night. So I suggest you stay for two nights in stargazing. There is a Japanese food in kohan here. Salmon is good.
