Diaoyu City is located on the Diaoyu Mountain, 5 kilometers east of Hechuan City, Chongqing City. The ancient battlefield site of Diaoyu City is well preserved up to now. The main landscapes are the city gates, walls, palaces, Wudao Yamen, infantry barracks and naval wharfs. There is a legendary history about Diaoyu City: in July 1259, the Mongolian Army divided its forces into three routes to expel the Song Dynasty. Dahan Montgor was seriously injured by artillery fire under the tenacious resistance of the army and the people of Diaoyu City, and later died of illness at the North Hot Spring Temple.
