The ancient city wall of Zhaoqing is a landmark building reflecting the architectural style of the Han nationality in the Song Dynasty. Located in the old urban area of Zhaoqing, with a perimeter of 2800 meters, it is known as the Xiaowanli Great Wall of Zhaoqing. According to historical records, Zhaoqing began as a Tucheng Wall. In the Song Dynasty and three years (1113), Tucheng was expanded and built as a brick city. Although the city wall has gone through many vicissitudes of life and has been repaired more than 20 times in history, the location of the city wall and the city gate has not changed. The city wall built in Song Dynasty is still intact. The ancient city wall of Zhaoqing was built in Song Dynasty, which is rare in China. So it is also called Song City Wall of Zhaoqing. The street where the city wall is located is also named Song City. We walk up the city wall in the night. The opening time of the city wall is 9:00 p.m. Under the red lantern, we pick up from the North gate, that is Chaotianmen, because the city wall is free to open. Put it in the residential area, you can see many local people walking there. The whole city wall can be seen as earthen brick structure. A small section along the road will have red lanterns hanging high illumination, and the new town planning of the inner city surrounded by the city wall is also being rebuilt. About 20 minutes from the north gate to the west is the tallest cloud tower of the city wall. The shape of the rebuilt cloud tower imitates the Song style architectural design of Tengwang Pavilion in Jiangxi Province and Huanghe Tower in Hubei Province. It is very atmospheric under the night light.
