Phoenix Island is a man-made island reclaimed from the reefs of the sea. It is located in the core of Sunshine Coast of Sanya Bay Resort in Sanya City. The island is surrounded by the sea. It is connected by a 394-metre-long and 17-metre-wide cross-sea sightseeing bridge with the urban coastal road, Sanya Bay Road and Guangming Road. It is less than 1,000 metres from Jiefang Road, the bustling commercial main road in Sanya City. It faces Luhuitou Park in the south, Sanya River in the southeast, Haikou Island in the East and West, and the beautiful 17-kilometre long Sanya Bay beach in the north. Fenghuang Island is 1250 meters long and 350 meters wide, covering 547.5 mu (365,000 square meters), with a planned total floor area of 480,000 square meters and a total volume ratio of 1.1. The 474,000 square meters of Erdao and the first stage of the island are connected by the whole beach. The depth of the sea water reaches 12 meters. The color is blue and clear and mellow. At present, the second stage of the Island reclamation project has been officially started on April 10, 2014, and will complete all the reclamation projects in 2016. Four new cruise terminals are planned, including 1 berth of 100,000 tons, 2 berths of 150,000 tons and 1 berth of 225,000 tons. At that time, Phoenix Island will be one of the largest international cruise home ports in the world, with 6-8 cruise ships docked at the same time and annual reception capacity of 2 million people. The Island relies on mountain scenery on three sides and faces the sea on all sides. It has unique mountain, sea and sky tourism scenery, and has the conditions of marine entertainment, water sports and all-season vacation tourism.
