This park is very large in size and every so often, local radio stations will host free concerts here. For the kiddies, there is a children's playground with lots of slides, swings, sandboxes, and even a merry-go-around. Snack stands near by for the hungry kids. The Japanese Tea Garden is one of my favorite components of the park. There's an $8 entrance fee, but it'll be money well spent, not to mention this is a great afternoon date place. Lots of photo opportunities available!More recently, I discovered that you can paddle-boat here as well at an hourly rate. Life jackets and paddle-boat included in the rental fee. No lifeguard on duty. Paddle at your own risk. The Golden Gate Orchestra was playing for free on a Sunday afternoon. They sounded great and there's really no bad seat. Various museums for your enjoyment, but check the hours of operation. Look for coupons in the free tourist books around town or online.
