The ancient city is still under construction, you will find many ancient buildings do not exist, replaced by artificial and renovated buildings, in fact, such construction is not a problem, but always give people a renovated and no ancient feeling.

Guide Ancient City is also the same place as Shangqiu Ancient City Scenic Area, you can get there by No.1 bus and then get off in front of the gate, an arch is placed out there. But maybe a better sight will be shown in a couple of days because now some houses are demolishing on both side of the street. There are many shops selling souvenirs inside. You can go upstairs on the tower but the south gate is not available for its keeping maintenance. Guide Ancient City is a big place but with few attractions. But it is still worth visiting when you are on a trip to Shangqiu.

The ancient city of Shangqiu has a history of more than 500 years. Although it has been through war, the ancient city of Baoshangqiu is a rare ancient city in the country. Due to the age of soldiers and disasters, the ancient city has been destroyed many times and rebuilt many times, but the scope is within ten miles from the north to the south. It looks ordinary, but if you know its history, it is still very interesting.

The ancient town under construction, the old house is particularly poorly maintained. The locals said that the construction was completed in October 2019. You can drive in the ancient town, park in sections, and a section of 5 yuan. Most attractions do not spend money now, such as the Confucian Temple, etc., the city wall charges 15 yuan per person, and you can have a pot of tea for free. Sit down and listen to a local pendant play, the ancient city is the four-way city, outside is the moat, there are almost no people now, I don't know how it will be after the official opening.

Am glad I got to experience the rich culture through visiting the Guide Ancient City. I had the most amazing time! Nice weather, beautiful place, but a little bit commercialized. There are many stores selling souvenirs inside. It is a little far from most of the attractions but you can go there by bus.

Living in the ancient city for 25 years, there are many historical stories here, (Li Xiangjun, Hou Fangyu, Peach Blossom Fan, Zhang Xun killing his wife to eat meat for soldiers,) etc. Majia steamed buns, Beiguan mutton soup, Xiguan Zayuyu, Dongguan oil tea, porridge. Songjia roast chicken. Accommodation: The county party committee guest house, there are several small hotels, and the situation has changed now. Traveling: take ✈️ to Xinzheng Airport and take the high-speed rail to Shangqiu City.
