Harvard University, or Harvard University for short, is located in Cambridge City, Boston Metropolitan Area, Massachusetts, USA. It is a world-renowned private research university and a member of the famous Ivy League. As of October 2018, Harvard University has trained eight presidents of the United States of America. Among its alumni, professors and researchers, there are 158 Nobel Prize winners (world No. 1) [2] [3], 18 Fields Prize winners (world No. 1) [4] [5], 14 Turing Prize winners (world No. 4) [6] [7]. Harvard University holds high esteem in many fields such as literature, medicine, law and business. With its high academic status and wide influence, it is recognized as one of the top institutions of higher education in the world today. Harvard is also the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. It was founded in 1636 by the colonial legislature of Massachusetts. Its first name is New Citizen College. It commemorates John & 183, the Reverend of Harvard, who gave the college generous support in its early days. The school was renamed Harvard College in March 1639. In 1780, Harvard College was formally renamed Harvard University. By 2017, there were more than 6700 undergraduates and 15250 postgraduates [8]. From 2017 to 2018, Harvard University ranked first in ARWU, first in USNews, third in QS and sixth in Thames.
