Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden is a composite art museum that combines indoor exhibition halls and outdoor gardens. It was co-funded by art collector Joseph Hirshhorn and the United States Congress in the 1960s. It was designed by renowned designer Gordon Bunshaft. Its collection is concentrated on contemporary art, especially European and American art after World War II. There are many kinds of exhibits, including paintings, photography, decoration, multimedia art, and gardens specializing in sculptures, including works by masters such as Picasso, Matisse and Rodin.
