Beautiful lake with a small but very attractive temple to visit. The small pagoda on an islet in the middle of the lake is unique. It is very pleasant to cross the red bridge to visit the temple and walk around the lake which shores are not crowded with people.

Hoan Kiem Lake is the famous tourist attraction. The aesthetic thing I noticed that, in weekends, these area will be restricted for vehicles and all peoples including tourists can walk freely through this roads. The roads are filled with lots of food counters, shopping kiosks and entertainment. The native peoples of Hanoi conducted an event like a festival in weekends, lots of dances and songs. A true paradise!! For me, Its a must visit place!

This is a famous attraction that must go to Hanoi. To be honest, the first sight is disappointing and not amazing. The lake is not big and the lake is not clear enough. Instead, the Vietnamese characteristics of the lake are various performances, live paintings, singing... I think Hoan Kiem Lake is more about feeling the ease of slow life than Let you enjoy the scenery, find a specialty coffee shop, order a cup of coffee and stay quiet.
