Red mosque is a long-standing mosque near the Beta market in Colombo. It is a red and white brick building, also known as Jami-Ul-Alfar mosque. It was completed in 1908 and is one of the landmarks of Colombo. It is said that many sailors who came to Sri Lanka in the early 20th century used it to identify the port of Colombo. It is noteworthy that the mosque is only open to men, and female visitors can only appreciate the beauty of the Islamic building from outside.
