Joshua Tree National Park is named for the large distribution of Joshua trees in the park. The Park covers a total area of 366.1 square kilometers. The Joshua Tree National Park is located in part of the two deserts and contains two major ecosystems. The Colorado Desert in the eastern part of the park is below 3,000 feet above sea level, and the natural garden is covered with wood-tar shrubs, ocotillo and cholla. The taller, wetter and slightly cooler Mojave Desert in the western part of the park is a special origin of Joshua Tree, the registered trademark of the park. The whole park is a main road, which can't be missed. It usually enters from the west gate and goes out from the North gate.
