Located along the scenic Likas Bay, the Kota Kinabalu City Mosque is the only floating mosque in Sabah. Built on a 2.47 acres site, the main prayer hall can acommodate up to 12,000 people at a time. The comtemporary Islamic architecture of this white building with blue domes is accentuated by the man made lagoon which surrounds it. It is especially beautiful during sunset. The mosque is open for public visits daily except on Fridays from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Admission is free, but be reminded to wear clothes that cover up your body.
