Lion Forest was first built in the Yuan Dynasty, and now there is a loft specially displaying many pieces of Lingbi Stone of Taihu Lake and collecting large historical records and introducing the front and back of this garden. Walking into the second floor of the showroom, you can see the art illustrations of the lion forest built by the great monks of the Yuan Dynasty, as well as the portraits of Emperor Qianlong and his story about the origin of the title "Zhenyi Pavilion" of the lion forest, but the most introduced is the Bai family. The origin of Bai's Lion Forest and Suzhou Lion Forest since modern times was introduced by a whole exhibition. In 1917, Bai Runsheng, the king of pigments in Shanghai, bought the Lion Forest for a huge sum of 100,000 silver yuan. It is said that the gardens at that time had been abandoned for a long time and were in ruins. Only the real interesting Pavilion at the Qianlong Plaque was left. Since then, Bai Runsheng spent more money and time to renovate and expand the Lion Forest, including purchasing. The old name of Yuan Dynasty is still used in the building of East houses and high walls around them. It took nine years to renovate and make it the landscape we can see today. After his grandson took over the garden, he made a complete donation to the government after liberation. Therefore, in order to commemorate the famous industrialist such as his merits, there are still bronze busts of Berenson and some old photographs of him and Lion Forest in the exhibition room.
