Among the many hidden treasures the Liwan Museum is one of them. It is a great place for those who really want to know what every day life was like in the colonial, late Qing Dynasty. Business was good in southern China and Cantonese businessmen built lovely homes in the best style of the time, and this Xiguan home is an excellent example of it. The relatively narrow building is offset by the high lofty ceilings, making the space both elegant and spacious. The interior woodwork shows best craftsmanship of the times as well as the fine decorations and collection
