Mt. Johnson, located in Lake Tekapo, is a small hill, famous for its star-watching place. At night, there can be a special group of stars to explain and take pictures. During the day, it is also famous for a cafe on the top of the hill. It takes about five minutes to drive from Lake Tekapo to the foot of Mt. Johnson and about 10 minutes to drive to the entrance to see a gate. There is a guard Pavilion at the entrance. A car charges 8. New York coin, and then you can walk down the Panshan Trail to the top of the hill. You can see the special house for watching the stars, the cafe and the very beautiful Lake Tekapo. Mount Johnson is the best place to enjoy the lake view from a high place.
