Datong Park, known as the heart of Sapporo, is a belt of green land about 1.5 kilometers long and 100 meters wide. There are grasslands, flower beds, fountains and so on, which are places for citizens to rest. It looks particularly beautiful in winter. The silver-white snow is full of colorful trees, and the night is as bright as day. The Sapporo Ice Sculpture and Snow Festival, held in February every year, is also here. By 2002, it has entered the 52nd session of the Sapporo Ice Sculpture and Snow Festival. There are many famous sculptures on both sides of the park. Datong Park is located in the center of Sapporo.
