Colmar, a flower town in Alsace, France, is a frequent visitor to the world's top 10 romantic towns. In the Middle Ages, the flow of the Lauch River kept the lives and livelihoods of the Colmar people. Along the banks of the river, scattered by the water of people of all walks of life, butchers, cobblers, fishermen..., left behind them a street named after their profession, butchers, cobblers, fishermen. In 1537, a hat merchant who made a fortune by pouring money built the most exquisite building in Colmar today. The painted exterior walls tell the story of the Bible, beautifully built surrounding balconies and eight-sided corner towers, highlighting the wealth of the sixteenth century, for which passers-by today look up. Standing in the center of Colmar, Church Square, look around and have a panoramic view of some of Colmar's historic buildings. The towering St. Martin's College Church, a perfect gothic church from the 13th to 14th centuries. The church was damaged extensively during the French Revolution and was not repaired until the 1980s. Near the fruit market, the intersection of Avenue(Grande Rue) and Merchant Street is the Old Customs House (Kofhus). In the Middle Ages, it occupied a strategic location in Colmar. The ground floor of the old customs building used to be a warehouse for stacking goods or a place for import and export tariffs. Upstairs is the management committee of the alliance Décapole in ten cities near Colma. When you come to Colma, the head house (Maison des Tetes) is a must-see. Built in 1609, the exterior of this German Renaissance-style building is filled with one hundred and six portraits of different expressions. Decorating portraits on the facade of buildings seems to be a fashion in the Renaissance, but more than a hundred portraits are not an artistic expression, maybe the owner of the house is showing wealth and richness and elegant. Local tyrants are always there, it is different from the soil. In 1902, a bronze statue of Auguste Bartordi was erected at the top of the gable. The current People's Head House is home to a five-star hotel and upscale restaurant. The city is watery, the La Lauche River passes through the city, and the dragons are seen on the streets of Colmar.
