Qingyan Ancient Town, one of the four ancient towns in Guizhou, is located in the southern suburbs of Guiyang City. It was built in Minghongwu ten years (1378) and was originally a military fortress. Qingyan Town was named after the nearby blue rock peaks, and it was the place where Tuntian was stationed. In the eleven years of Ming Chongxu, the traveler Xu Xiake passed through Qingyan and wrote in his travel notes: "Qingyan's city is newly built, and there is a lot of Walou Market in the city, which is the key point in the southern part of your province.
