Shark Island Review

I grew up in Sydney and never heard of this place before, until this time on the "Jump Up and Down Captain Cook Tour" and spent a few hours here. The island is not big, you can walk around within 15 minutes, but it is in the middle of the harbor, opposite the Rose Bay Airship Base, we have seen many takeoffs and landings. It is good for picnics, but you have to prepare everything, although there are tables and chairs, but there is no shop, coffee shop or other place to buy food. There is a toilet, but the conditions are average. You can enjoy the beautiful view of Sydney and the harbor.

We booked this trip to Shark Island on New Year's Eve and it was really impressive. The midnight view was amazing and the island somehow accommodated nearly 800 people without feeling cramped. We saw a beautiful fireworks show here, the bar was well stocked and reasonably priced. We brought our own food to save money and there was plenty of space for a picnic.

Shark Island Shark Island without sharks is a very niche tourist attraction in Sydney. Although this place is called Shark Island, it does not mean many sharks. Just because the island and shark are similar in shape, it is named. Shark Island is located in the heart of Sydney Harbour. It is a small island, but the view is very unique. On Shark Island, you can see the scenery of the entire Sydney Harbour. Shark Island is actually far from the high-rise buildings, but not remote. Buildings and oceans on one side, architecture and nature collide with a special flavor. If you are an outdoor or extreme sports enthusiast, this may not be for you! Shark Island is perfect for picnics, many people bring their own food here to enjoy an afternoon. The facilities on the island are not complete, there is nothing commercial except the bathroom to break the tranquility here. Don't think about finding restaurants and cafes here!  Way of travel: Almost an island that exists independently in the center of Sydney Harbour, can only be reached by ferry.  Ticketing: Shark Island does not require tickets, except for ferry tickets. It is a perfect choice to come here for sunbathing and picnics in your leisure time!
