Shenyang Forest Zoo is located in Shenyang Qipanshan International Scenic Tourism Development Zone, 17 kilometers away from the city, built in 2000, covering an area of 217 hectares. The park exhibits more than 1,300 representative animals from around the world, is the only comprehensive state-owned zoo in Shenyang that displays a variety of rare wildlife, and is also the youth science base in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, and the artificial breeding research base of China's Red-crowned Crane.
