The origin of "Sipailou" is related to the earliest Confucian Temple in Shanghai. The former Confucian Temple in Shanghai is located in the area of College Road of today's Sipailou Road. During the Shanghai Knife Club uprising, the buildings of the Confucian Temple were destroyed and razed to the ground. Because there were four archways here, they were called "Four Archways Street". Sipailou Road has always retained the old appearance of the civilian street in the old urban area. Now, under the influence of the commercial tide, Sipailou has become a special snack street.
